NDC auditor reviewing evidence during a certification assessment
Switch to NDC

Maintain ISO standards. Lose the overhead.

Keep UKAS where it's required. Where independent certification meets your requirements, discuss an NDC audit and a new, non-UKAS certificate.

Requirements first

Independent does not mean accredited.

NDC independent certification is non-UKAS. It is not an accredited equivalent and cannot replace accredited certification where that status is required.

Check acceptance with the customer or organisation asking for certification. Not sure? Check your contracts and tenders. If accreditation is not specified, you may have a choice, subject to the relevant customer and sector requirements.

The Switch process

Send your evidence. Set up your system. Complete your audit.

Confirm that independent, non-accredited certification meets your requirements before beginning.

Step 1

Send your certificate and audit report.

Check customer contracts, tenders, frameworks and any regulator or sector requirements first. Keep accredited certification wherever it is required. If an independent route is suitable, agree a secure document handoff with NDC, then provide your current certificate and last audit report for review. Do not put confidential reports in the website enquiry form.

Step 2

Get set up on ISOcomply365.

Use ISOcomply365 as a generic platform your team operates to manage documents, evidence and actions between audits. Software, automation and AI tools can reduce repetitive administration. Your organisation remains responsible for its management system; NDC must not configure or write that system and then certify it. Agree platform arrangements, audit scope and costs before committing.

Step 3

Complete the NDC audit and receive your certificate.

NDC carries out its own independent, non-accredited audit against the applicable ISO requirements. A successful certification decision leads to a new NDC certificate. This is not an IAF MD2 transfer of your existing accredited certificate.

Reduce repeated work

Reduce repeated audit work.

Common requirements across ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001 can be assessed together where appropriate, reducing duplicated preparation and audit activity. Each standard's specific requirements still need assessment. Audit time and costs depend on your scope and organisation; no fixed saving is promised.

Use the enquiry form to outline your current standards and accreditation requirements. Do not paste confidential audit reports or attach certificates. Agree a secure document handoff with NDC before providing those files.
